The Magic of Motherhood

A friend recently asked me what surprised me most about motherhood. What a great question. As the answer arose in me, it was about where the magic resides inside parenting.

Through connection.

That’s where the juice is.

The joy.

The play.

The magic.

Seems obvious right?

Except no one told me that before becoming a mom. I heard about the challenge and how tiring it is. And when parenting happens from a top-down approach of authority and discipline, I can see how that would be exhausting; constantly having to say "no" or "don’t do that." Or needing to take a power-over stance. Tiring for sure...

I’m parenting from a place of relationship with my daughter. Where I’m present, engaged and in connection with her is where the resource arises for me. It’s where I’m nourished just as much as she is. It’s where I’m discovering who I am I relation to her.

"I’m parenting from a place of relationship with my daughter. Where I’m present, engaged, and in connection with her is where the resource arises for me."

I’m not sure why more parents don’t share about this. Is it not their experience?

I feel like I’m sitting on the cosmic jackpot in understanding that connection is where both my daughter and I get to thrive. And I wish it for all parents everywhere ❤️🙏❤️

Woohoo!

Big Love and Delight,

Mandalena
